When I decided that I would start quilting, I felt I was lacking in my sewing skills. I had been sewing for many years, made my own clothes, completed garments for other people and crafted many home decor items from fabric. Still, when I came across quilts that others created, I marvelled at the beauty and precision of the quilt. I spoke to many quilters through the years and I gathered that most quilters had tremendous experience creating quilts, had participated in shows and had even won awards.
My hesitation to pursue a dream ended when I retired from work. I made the decision that I would begin to quilt. There it was, finally, the big step to begin. No more excuses or fears. I began by sewing small projects, charity quilts and creating particular quilts to fulfill ideas that had been in mind for a while. After watching a lot of YouTube videos, I decided to explore the longarm quilting machines. Long story short, I invested in a longarm and that has rocked my world. Not only is this a great quilting machine, it is my therapy.
