Quilting is Poetry

What book could you read over and over again?

Other than my Bible, there are two books in my library that I never tire of reading. Both books are authored by different early 20th century poets, Carl Sandburg and Robert Frost.

I have found that creating a quilt is much like creating a poem. The composition begins with carefully curated fabrics, allowing different colors and textures to work together and create a unique work of art. Sometimes a quilt can be a reflection of a persons history. Other times quilts are made for a particular person to show love or commemorate an event, as in a a Baby quilt. Whatever the reason, a quilt is special as a poem that conveys a particular thought or feeling. I enjoy my poetry reading as much as I enjoy making quilts. No rhyme or reason, just love to quilt.
